Surely many already have their bags ready or you will be going with the baby to the beach for the first time. Then we give you nine tips that will simplify your life.
Take the essentials
The stroller and the trunk of the toys leave them for friendlier grounds. Instead, use a baby carrier and choose the two favorite baby toys (That are small, but not so much as to get lost in the sand). The beach has very interesting and fun things to play like sand or waves.
He also has a pair of diapers, wipes and a change of clothes to change the baby.
Sun protection before leaving home
A routine that you should incorporate when there are children is to apply the cream with sunscreen before leaving home. Doing it on the beach with sand is an impossible mission.
You must apply a thick layer throughout the body, also in those parts that we usually forget like the neck, insteps and ears, at least 20 minutes before sun exposure.
Create a shadow site
Don't forget to bring an umbrella if you go with the baby. You need a shadow space to rest or take a nap. Today there are super practical solutions such as small shops that cover the sun and wind.
Water ducks! ... little by little
Make sure that when approaching the sea there are no children screaming or running since the baby can be scared and not wanting to enter, especially if it is the baby's first bath in the sea.
At first, wet your feet only and put it little by little, just on the shore and watch out for the waves. Do not let go a moment and try not to extend the bathroom more than 10 minutes.
An inflatable pool
A good idea if you have a small baby is to take a small inflatable pool to the beach, fill it with a little water (if it is from the tap, better) so that the baby can cool off and play there quietly without splashes or waves.
Just do not take your eye off, remember that just a few centimeters can cause drowning.
Make the sand an ally
One of the parents' great concerns when it comes to going to the beach with the baby is the sand. It is inevitable that the baby will take it to his mouth, he will want to taste its texture and most likely its taste.
Nothing happens because you do, you may discover that you do not like it and do not do it again, but it is not recommended that you take it as a habit because it can be dirty, there are remains of cigarette butts or wrappers, so you have to try to avoid it. When you see that sand is brought to your mouth, distract and propose another fun game.
The wet sand of the shore is less tempting to bring to the mouth and is ideal for creating shapes and constructions with the bucket and shovel.
Choose the coolest hours
Falling to the beach at one in the afternoon is not a good idea if you have a small baby. Avoid the central hours of the day, between 12 and 18, in which the sun is too strong.
Instead, you can go for a while in the morning and another in the afternoon, after six, when the sun begins to give a little truce. Sunset is the best time to go with the baby to the beach.
More sun protection
In addition to sunscreen, protect your baby with a hat and light clothes. If you are going to lie on the sand to sleep, put a towel and make sure it always gives you the shade.
Hydrate the baby
It is very important to keep the baby always hydrated since they are more vulnerable to dehydration than adults. Excessive loss of fluids can have serious consequences for your body, which is why you have to be especially careful in summer.
If breastfed, just offer the breast more frequently. If you have less than six months, you do not need to give extra water. If you are older, bring a bottle of mineral water and offer it frequently.
