The Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Niño Jesús University Children's Hospital has launched the second edition of the popular race "Run for the Child", which aims to stimulate the exercise as a way of life.
The event, which is held near the Retiro Park in Madrid during the morning of Sunday, October 21, raises funds to maintain two research projects developed by the institution since 2011 and that have already produced important data:
An investigation about how the central nervous system works in children with respiratory and circulation problems.
Another study on the intimate mechanism of the children's organism response to infections.
By registering for the competition in exchange for ten euros or through donations to 'Dorsal 0', experts expect to exceed the more than 30,000 euros raised last year. In this way, they will be done two races, five and ten kilometers each.
The five kilometer race is designed for amateur runners and families, an opportunity to play sports and have a good time are children.
