Your co-workers donate 3,300 overtime so you can take care of your child with leukemia

Andreas Graf suddenly lost his wife to heart disease, just when his son Julius, who was just three years old, he was diagnosed with leukemia. Because of this, he had to take all his annual vacations as an assembly worker in the factory where he works, near the city of Marburg, in Germany, to be with his son.

He had exhausted all his days off, and seeing that he still had to stay with him to take care of him, his companions had a gesture of commendable solidarity: more than 650 colleagues they donated almost 3,300 extra hours so you can take care of your sick child.

"Without this tremendous help I would have already lost my job," Graf told the media.

The initiative was promoted by the company's human resources chief, Pia Meier, who came up with overtime to gather all the factory employees to help Andreas.

The entire workforce signed the agreement and in two weeks they gathered the most valuable gift they could give to this father: time to take care of your child. Specifically, 3,265 hours have been accumulated so that your partner can dedicate to Julius almost a year and two months No need to go to work.

The little one, who turned five last month, is recovering favorably. After several sessions of chemotherapy, he is already better and feels strong enough to return to school. And dad at work. A gesture of solidarity that you will never forget.
