And as a gift from Reyes ... to school

One of the situations that I valued most in my childhood, in terms of calendar, was when the day of Kings fell on Thursday. If this happened, the school did not start until day 10. He was a mathematician. Yes or yes.

If it fell on Wednesday we used to go back to class on day 8, which although it was not the best, it was not so bad either, because you went one day and arrived on the weekend and if it fell on Tuesday, then you also went on 8 and also on 9 .

Well, the rule of "Kings on Thursday, at school 10" seems to have broken (and I don't know since when), since some schools opened yesterday day 7 and, when I heard the news, I thought: but, what little humanity!

I know that I am probably a bit exaggerated, but watching the news of glancing while I had dinner I heard that a quarter of the schools in Catalonia opened their doors yesterday and I read after 142 schools in the Community of Madrid also did the same.

At that moment my lower jaw violently contacted my feet and I shouted to me (and for those who wanted to hear me): “It can't be! What a little humanity! ”

Reconciling working life

I know that this measure meets the needs of some families to reconcile their working life. they must use the school on January 7, the day after Reyes. Still, I still think the same, because a "law" is broken, a "norm" (in between because it is obviously neither law nor norm), which had always existed and that all children knew. In fact, when we looked at the calendars of the following year, we stopped in the month of January to observe the red 6 and how close it was on Saturday, to make our accounts and, if as I said, the 6 fell on Thursday, you could be calm because surely you did not return to school until the 10th.

No time to play

I do not understand that the day of the Magi is celebrated, children are given toys (a few, sure) and that the next day, with no time just to have played with them, they are made to return to school, where they will probably have the mind more on what they have left at home than on what they have found when they return to class.

Please, I know that there is currently no law or norm, but could someone make it exist?
