Beware of insects, they transmit diseases

In summer, most parents take various preventive measures to prevent insects from biting our children. The next day their skin itches, it bothers them and sometimes even the bites become infected, needing even antibiotics to cure them.

In addition to all this, and although the probability of it happening is much lower, we must take into account, and this many people do not know, that insects can transmit diseases from around the world thanks to their bites.

People travel and migrate

Over time, long-distance travel has increased and migratory movements follow one another in the search for a better future (and a present). This makes people carry with them diseases that we have not seen for some time or even unknown in our country, insects being very guilty of it.

Everything happens when a person travels to another country where an insect bites him. At that time the virus is transmitted to him and that person becomes the transport of the disease, that is, the person returns to his country with the virus in his blood. If an insect bites you in your country, this will be the one that can spread other people in successive bites and our children can be recipients of their bites.

Depending on the virus that the person has, the insect may become infected, and the disease may spread to anyone who bites, or this may not happen and the virus may only remain in the insect's mouthparts and therefore only spread for a few years. minutes or a few hours

Mosquitoes also travel

It can also happen that It is the insect that travels to our country, as has happened with the tiger mosquito, unknown a few years ago and which is already one of our "summer culture".

Apparently the arrival of this mosquito is closely related to the route of the highways. Wherever they pass, there may be tiger mosquitoes, because they travel, they say, in used tires that transport trucks and ships. The tires are waterproof and can easily contain water, favoring the presence of mosquitoes.

Some diseases that can spread

Some of the diseases that arrive in Europe are the West Nile virus, which has led Texas to fumigate recently to kill the insects, which are transmitting this disease (17 deaths have been this year), the chikungunya, which It is transmitted by the Asian tiger mosquito, from which there was an outbreak in Italy in 2007, and dengue.

Controlling this is difficult, very difficult, so as parents all we have left is to try to prevent the presence of mosquitoes at home and their bites. I am seeing one and I quickly liquidate it (forgive me the defenders of the mosquitoes, if they exist), but I have enough dislike and mania after a horrible night that I spent a few years ago, when after hearing a constant buzzing I decided to finish With the deceased

After almost two hours of sleep and several attempts to sleep believing that it was over, I eliminated the ninth mosquito that stalked me. The next day I had three bites (few for what it could have been), but enough for me to do my best now to prevent my children from receiving them.

PS: On how to prevent mosquito bites we have talked on other occasions, if you want, you can read about it here.
