Halloween is coming, those of you who know me already know that I have been a little reluctant to celebrate this party at home, and not only because it is not rooted in our traditions, but also because it seemed to me empty of content.
Three years ago, I decided that I could not deprive my children of enjoyment on this day, and I set out to approach Samhain's night (for the Celtic people) while transmitting the value of the most ancestral customs to children. In the end we also have pumpkins, skeletons and witch hats, but with a preparation full of character, and of course we had fun at home and in the street with a lot of friends.
In Peques and Más we have already given ideas to make monstrous sweets, decoration with spider webs and very original costumes. Today is the turn of dinner, because you are not going to meet to share the last leg of the night of October 31? I bring you these mini pizzas 'mummy' that Belén (from Cooking for 2) has made: A simple recipe with a very suitable result for Halloween, in addition these mummies are very fun and children will love: they are made by spreading fried tomato on wafers of empanadilla and covering everything with strips of gouda cheese (leaving holes for the eyes). The disturbing (funny for many) eyes of these mummies are simple black olives, but the result is perfect.
After baking about eight minutes, the pizzas will be ready. The best? You can use this recipe as easy to make as many mini pizzas as you want.
And we can vary a bit: for example we can make pizza dough (in this post with video of Direct to the Palate it is very well explained) and after extending it cut circles using a dessert plate; or we can use loaves of loaf bread as a base.
