Summer recipes to make with kids: chocolate chip cookies

The classic cookies or chocolate chip cookies They are very easy to make and are fun to prepare with the help of children. There are many cookie recipes but the one I am going to propose is very simple and above all, it always works out well.

The kids will enjoy stirring the ingredients, working with the flour, testing the raw dough and especially making the balls with the mixture to form the cookies, so entertainment is guaranteed. And the good thing is that the snack and breakfast will be resolved for a few days.

Ingredients for about 20 cookies

  • 125 gr of flour, 100 gr of oat flakes, 1.5 teaspoons of Royal type chemical yeast, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, 125 gr of butter, 200 gr of sugar, 1 L-size eggs, vanilla flavor and about 200 grams of chocolate chips.

How to make chocolate chip cookies with children's help

To make the dough, we start crushing the oatmeal until they are a powder almost like flour. Then, in a bowl we mix them with wheat flour, Royal yeast and a teaspoon of salt. In another bowl, beat the egg with the sugar and butter.

Mix both containers and add a teaspoon of vanilla aroma and work until a homogeneous mass. Sure that there is no lack of volunteers to taste the taste of our dough and that we haven't added chocolate yet.

The next step is to stretch the dough on a tray so that you can add the chocolate chips in the form of rain and so they are more or less evenly distributed. Then we squeeze a little with the hand so that the seeds are embedded and we gather everything together making a kind of ball with all our dough.

We can take advantage of the time in which the oven is preheating, to form the cookies with the help of the children. For each cookie we take a tablespoon of dough, we make a ball the size of a meatball, and we leave it on the baking sheet that we will have covered with a baking paper.

You have to leave space between one ball and another because cookies increase in size to avoid getting together with each other. When we have all the cookie balls placed, we crush them a little by hand or with a spoon and bake them for 9 minutes at 180º.

Remember that cookies cannot be eaten until they have cooled, although the little ones insist ... When they cool down they will have hardened and will be ready for consumption. You can keep them, - if they last - in a tin box.
