Dads bloggers: David visits us, from the blog And dad also

We continue with our series of interviews with Dads bloggers that we are publishing these days given the proximity of Father’s Day. Today, our special guest is David, from the blog And dad too, blog that he writes since May 2012.

David is 43 years old and has two children, Arnau 7 years old and Judith 3 years old. In addition to being a father, he is a social media consultant for companies and professionals. He is married, has a very good hand with children and tries to always see the good side of things. It is considered optimistic full time 24/7.

What led you to start a blog?

I have always been passionate about new technologies and the internet (it's my job) and thanks to them I discovered the maternal blogosphere. That made me start reading blogs of moms in which they explained their maternity stories and some parents who also explained "their side" of parenting. From here I thought it might be interesting to have a place where I could also explain my stories and my adventure as a father, so one day in May almost three years ago And Dad was also born.

What has the blog contributed to you?

"The true grace of fatherhood and motherhood is that you are continually learning"

Learn, learn and learn. Being able to meet wonderful people, discover different methods of parenting, to live fatherhood and to find out that on many occasions I am not alone, that there are many moms and dads who are in my same situation and feel totally identified.

How has fatherhood changed you?

It has made me grow as a person. It has helped me to evolve (and continues in it). Knowing that day by day you are learning new things has helped me to be a better father (I try), but above all to grow as a human being.

What advice would you have liked to receive when you became a father?

All, but that is impossible. The true grace of fatherhood and motherhood is that you are continually learning. Do not stop knowing and discovering new things, I am also a follower of the trial-error method (making mistakes to learn) and thanks to that I have adapted. That's why I never try to give advice to new parents, since trying to explain what has been better for you may not be effective for others. I prefer to tell my stories and from here that everyone take the notes that interest them and adapt them to their life.

What gift would you like to receive the next Father's day?

I am not a gift person. Normally a handmade detail without any physical value but full of emotion and affection fills me much more. So I will love anything.

We thank David, from the blog And dad too for having participated in our Special Papas Bloggers with whom we are getting to know the men behind each blog a little better.
