When my daughter was born and I started using the things I had chosen for her I knew that I would tell you my experience here. I already did the same with the stroller, the changing table and now it's the turn of the hammock. The one we have been using with her is that of Babybjörn, famous because it is very compact and because it is balanced with the baby's own movements.
This hammock is ergonomic, so it adapts to the shape and size of your baby. The base is made of aluminum and the cover of organic cotton and washable quite soft (although there is normal cotton and a breathable fabric ideal for use in higher temperatures). Although it is quite firm, it is not a heavy hammock (2.1 kilograms).
Three positions for three different activities
The hammock has three positions depending on the activity we are doing with the baby: one in which he is sitting and in which he is motivated to be active, another slightly more inclined, perfect to help him relax and another to rest in which They can take a little nap.
There is a fourth position, but this is not taken advantage of by the baby but by us and is to leave it completely flat. Thus it is very easy to carry it in the trunk of the car to any place, since it hardly takes up space.
My experience with the Babybjörn hammock
This hammock can be used from 3.5 kg and up to 15 kg. of weight. When my baby was very young, I used to put it for very short moments so that I could get used to it. As he grew older I noticed that he liked it more ... Now there are even times when in the only place where it seems to be quiet in the hammock.
The main question that caught my attention is because I thought that my baby would discover that she could rock herself thanks to her movement and in fact she noticed it little by little. It does not happen very quickly, but it does seem to be intuiting.
One of the things I like the most is that when I walk flush, I sit on the carpet and I can play with her facing him. It is a device that motivates you to share with your baby because you have to be by her side either to entertain her or when she is tired because you must rock her gently. In my daughter's case it works very well because she calms down and falls asleep.
I think the design is pretty good, because when I feel it it feels comfortable and the harness doesn't bother you ... even The material it is made of also seems a success, since it is very soft, even in the area of seams.
There is one thing to consider and that is that although the hammock does not bring built-in toys, which can be purchased as an additional accessory. This consists of a bar (which adapts to the edges of the hammock so that the child cannot remove it) and the toy itself. Ours is made of brightly colored fabric, it is padded and although it seems to have very rare shapes, it is ideal for them to catch with their little hands.
Obviously the catch that can be put is that it is not a cheap object, but for the quality it has and the use it is givenI think it is very worth the investment.
