In search of the perfect high chair ?: we tried the Stokke Tripp-Trapp

One of the things I find most useful is the high chair. It is an object that is bought with the idea of sitting the baby when he begins to receive other types of food other than milk, but personally I have found in it a wonderful integration instrument. After investigating and evaluating all the possibilities we opt for the Tripp-Trapp of Stokke, and as always, I will tell you my experience with her.

This is an evolutionary highchair, that is, It is designed for the baby to use from newborn onwards, since it becomes a chair that we can use as adults without any problem.

There are three things that characterize this highchair: one, which is made of beech wood, so its quality is quite high (which corresponds to its price, of course), another, that you must go 'assembling it' according to your tastes and needs with additional accessories and the Last and most important, is that you involve the baby with the family at mealtime from the moment you start using it.

Its design is quite particular, since at first glance it may seem somewhat small and very different from the idea of a 'lifelong' highchair, but it has several positive aspects such as being able to bring the baby to the table, another that does not occupy much more space than a normal chair and that you can put it anywhere in the house (I move it several times a day when I have to do things and I do not want to lose sight of it). Another is that its design allows lowering the positions of the seat and footrest as the child grows, so you will always have your chair with the perfect height, without using additional objects to reach the table. It can support a weight of up to 85 kg, so it can be used by an adult without any problem.

A high chair that can be used from newborn

As I told you at the beginning, you can use it since the baby is born thanks to the 'Tripp Trapp Newborn Set', a seat that can be incorporated. It is super comfortable and was 'love at first contact' with my baby: it was immediately noticed that he liked to look at our same height at the table without being in arms. Needless to say, seeing her like this and having that comfort also conquered me.

When she managed to sit down and hold her head, it was time to move on to the next level: 'Tripp Trapp Baby Set', a kind of support that holds the baby sitting with a posture similar to the one he adopts when we have him in his arms looking forward (it is the most graphic way I have found to describe it). The best thing is that the baby does not move to one side and another or slide forward. The legs have complete freedom and the back is completely straight.

One of the things that seem vital to me and that this highchair has is that it is quite stable and compact. It is also easy to clean, since the cushions are removed very easily.

What advantages have I found in this highchair with respect to another?

Unlike the other things that I have used and of which I have spoken to you, the high chair has been able to compare it with another, since the grandparents bought a Bbest to have it in their house. Honestly there is no point of comparison: that seems quite comfortable because it is padded and the bedside table that it includes is wide, but the little one slips and I have to rearrange it every bit. It is clear that she is used to his, but the difference is really noticeable.

I also find that Bbest's is too wide-legged and that doesn't seem comfortable to me either. I know it probably may not be a feature that counts a lot when making a decision, but I live in a small flat and prefer compact things.

Would you recommend it?

Definitely yes, although it is clear everyone has different needs and tastes (As I have said on other occasions, I only tell my experience if someone can help). I love this highchair, I think it is beautiful, practical, very comfortable for a baby and it is fantastic to integrate it into something as important as the time of the meal.

I usually choose things thinking of giving them as much usefulness as possible and this is another example of this: this high chair will not go to the storage room when she no longer needs it as such: It will become the chair of your desk, although when I look at it I will always remember those moments when I mashed it with its mini-spoon.

Have any of you tried it? Would you tell us your experience with the high chairs of your kids?
