A priest in Romania is suspended for mistreating a baby during a baptism because he kept crying

Naked and in the hands of a stranger who treats him roughly and wants to immerse him in a pile of water. It is normal for a helpless baby, who is not aware of what a baptism means, is terrified and cries full lungs to save his life, right?

Even if it's only a minute, I could hardly stand to watch the full video in which a priest in Romania loses patience and mistreats a baby during a baptism because he kept crying. The pastor ended up suspended for "inappropriate attitude."

Remember that according to the Orthodox church, babies who are baptized must be immersed three times in holy water from head to toe. This celebration was held in the city of Brăila (Romania), and the priest is a pastor of the Orthodox archdiocese of the Lower Danube.

In the images you can see how, after a couple of attempts to baptize the baby that does not stop crying, end up losing patience. Try to make him stop covering his face with his hand, but logically the baby ends up crying even more.

At one point he seems to give up and gives the baby to his parents, but then he tries again and abruptly dips the child three times in the holy water pile.

Parents witness the scene between surprised and scared. And although it is difficult for us to understand the rite, it seems incomprehensible that they did not take the baby to calm him down by seeing him so scared.

The paragraph has been suspended for one month and admonished for "inappropriate gestures and attitude" as reported by the newspaper Libertatea.

Controversial baptisms

It is not the first time that a controversy arises around a baptism in this region of Europe. The images we see above a christening in Georgia they have gone around the world shocking everyone by the way the archbishop treats the baby, shoving him headlong into the water.
