The first musical contacts

It is at home where the child's musical education really begins. From its earliest days of life - and even, as we discussed here, from mom's womb - an infinite variety of noises and sounds, coming from the surrounding environment, reach him. Your ear will soon be impressed by all that, perhaps before your other senses. It will be not only the voices of the people that surround it, but also all the loudness around it: footsteps that approach or move away, doors that open or close, an open tap, a falling spoon, a chair that runs, the noise of the keys when placed on a piece of furniture.

But the really final thing in this first stage is mom's voice. We moms usually talk while we change it, when we lift it and lift it in our arms, while we bathe it, when expressing happiness before one of their babble. The important thing is that the baby's ear continuously listens to that voice, which is the one he knows best, the one that calms him, lulls him and transmits love to him. All of this is done by moms intuitively; we use very particular words, between spoken and sung, and often even invented, and most of the time we don't stop to think about the importance that these sound contacts have for our son.

How much more care we would put moms in this sound world, if we knew that it helps to develop the musicality of our children!
