How to make him pick up his toys

Children love to play and mess everything up, but when it's time to store toys, it's not that fun anymore.

In Guiadelniño.com they give us some good tips to apply on a daily basis and teach your child the good habit of collecting toys at the end of the game

Here they go.

1- Point out a place to store toys considering your child's height

2- Work with your child. Start when your child is still very young, so he will have the habit of storing toys at the end of the day.

3- Make keeping toys a family activity. This is a good time for parents to review toys that need repairs, or get rid of those that can no longer be repaired. A simple repair can keep a toy for a long time.

4- Maintain reasonable expectations. Your child may not be able to do things the way you want them to be done, but this is the right time to teach and learn. 5- Your child may need help understanding what he needs to do. Try to divide the activity of “picking up toys” in small steps, for example, say something like “Put all the blocks in the bag and hang them on the hook”, or “pick up all the cars on the floor and put them on the shelf (or drawer)".

6- Reward your child's good behavior. When he picks up the toys, as a reward he shares extra time with him.

7- Plan ahead. Before playing with toys that have small parts, put a sheet on the floor and when the children finish playing simply pick up the sheet by the corners and empty all the small pieces in the toy box.

8- Turn to collect toys in a "game" Say something like "I see a green box", let your child identify the object and store it in the drawer or bag of toys.

9- Keep a box or a drawer available for small toys and missing parts. At the end of the day, you can order things. Your child will know where to look for lost items.

10- Use an alarm clock and play with your child about how many toys can he collect before the alarm sounds? You will have a lot of fun.

11- Have each family member collect 5 objects and store them in the assigned place. Do not forget that children also learn by imitating the actions of the elderly.

12- Teach your child the right place to place not only toys but other household items. Cut out a magazine, the photo of the toy and paste it in the toy box or drawer in which you want to store the toy.
