When leaving class, kangaroo schools

The Department of Citizen Services of Madrid has enabled a new service that we already predict will have to be expanded, as it is a program in which each district of the capital has a center open until 8 pm in which they can stay children whose parents work late.

It will be different schools in Madrid that host the program “Afterclass”, And during those afternoon hours the children will do what they would normally do at home, snack, do their homework and in this case, also encouraging coexistence and sociability, they will play with their classmates.

This service is intended for children between the ages of 3 and 12 and each center will accommodate 30 children, in total there will be 630 seats throughout the city. Half of these places will be destined to the children that the Social Services have chosen taking into account the needs of each family, 25% of places will be covered by the children proposed by the center and the rest will be children of the district who request a place.

The "kangaroo-schools”They will have two schedules, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. when they do full-time, and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. when there is a reduction in school hours.

Children who do not belong to the school of the program, will be picked up on a bus and thanks to a financing agreement with La Caixa, in each school they will create a cyberaula for children to approach new technology.

It seems like a good program, but as we have said, we think that in several districts they will have to increase their places, since there are many parents who work late. What do you think?
