Two new rooms to give birth at home in the Clinic La Milagrosa in Madrid

Many women would like to have a more natural, more conscious birth, to put it in some way and with less medical intervention.

As if it were a home birth, something intimate, but with the assurance that neither they nor the baby can run any risk.

As it is not yet possible to transfer a whole medical team to your home, the La Milagrosa Clinic in Madrid has two new rooms specially set to give birth as if it were in your own home but with all the guarantees of a medical center.

In these new units, contrary to what happens in most centers, episiotomies are not performed, births are not planned, or caesarean sections are performed, unless it is the only way out.

Regina Cárdenas, gynecologist at the La Milagrosa clinic and promoter of this new concept of births, very different from hospitalized deliveries, says that "the woman's body is a perfect machine to give birth", that we alone, without needing anything or anything From no one are we able to give birth to our children.

Mothers can choose the most comfortable way to give birth, sitting, standing, squatting, and decide when to push. They are helped with massages and hot water baths, very beneficial to stimulate labor.

Honestly, I think this new mode of delivery is very successful, even for women who prefer this type of birth but fear pain, because a gynecologist, a midwife and an anesthetist assist the mother who applies the epidural if the patient requests it.

I believe that this concept of childbirth, where the mother is more involved and where birth is conceived as a physiological and less hospitalized fact, is gaining more and more followers.

We hope that this new type of delivery begins to spread to the rest of the centers so that women can have a more natural option but at the same time safe to bring our children to the world.
