Less life expectancy in obese children

Obesity is a serious problem to solve, many of the diseases derived from excess weight are responsible for shortening the life expectancy of obese children when they grow and reach maturity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, heart attacks, etc., all this can be drastically reduced, simply taking care of the lifestyle. We as parents should guide our children in the habits and lifestyle that allows, not only to increase life expectancy, but also their quality.

Despite the initiatives or strategies designed to fight obesity by governments and other institutions, the total involvement of parents is essential, it is not enough to learn about these issues in schools or in other centers. We have enough information to raise awareness about the serious harms of obesity, just apply this information to ensure a better future for children.

Curiously, the statistics reveal the opposite, instead of reducing the number of obese children, the numbers increase, now one child in four suffers from nutritional disorders (20%), something very different from what happened a few years ago whose index only It reached 5% of the child population. Experts indicate that the basis of this notable increase is formed by two factors, the lack of physical activity and poor diet, two issues that must be solved as soon as possible, and more if we want to guarantee a better future for our children. What can be done? Despite there being so much information, so many statistics or scientific studies that show the seriousness of the problems of overweight and obesity, the numbers continue to increase. Perhaps it should act with greater emphasis on the agri-food industry, forcing that the food they provide is of higher quality (some examples would be the industrial pastries, beverages, pre-cooked products, etc.), the truth is that although they are made more initiatives, we are the parents who can change the current situation of the balance, most of these problems are generated in the family environment.

We must ensure the interests of our children, our behavior will be decisive so that in the future they can have a better quality and life expectancy.
