Parent stories: The birth of my son Mathias

We are very happy to be able to continue celebrating Father's Day in Babies and more with the stories that our parents send us.

Here we have the history of birth of Mathias, and his father tells us the moments of anguish and tension he suffered when the birth began to get complicated, but yes, with a happy ending.

"My name is Franklin, I'm from Ecuador and this is my experience:

Although the news of my wife's pregnancy fell to us like ice water, since we had only been married for 2 months and we had planned not to have babies until we were economically stable and as a couple, we were glad to think about having a baby. So we project all the preparations to receive it.

Regular check-ups with the doctor were completely normal until he turned 9 months, we even expected a normal delivery that is how we wanted it.

We were very anxious that it was already beginning to show signs of wanting to arrive but we didn't see any. The doctor told us that everything is fine and that men sometimes take a few more weeks until 40 to be born.

Last week (39) the doc who did the checkups went on vacation. Then we looked for another place as a second option, so on Monday her mother took her to a motherhood where they told us that she is new and good and was even free.

So we decided to give birth there, although for that Monday the doctor was returning, because that would save us the $ 280.00 of the birth charged by the doc or if it was a caesarean section, which was the case, it cost us $ 500.00

Just that Monday she didn't want to go because she felt tired but her mother forced her.

Already in the maternity they make a monitoring and realize that the baby's heartbeat is too weak to be born (that's why he had no contractions) that he would not have the strength to do so and that the placenta was calcified and there was no liquid left Amniotic and added to that, my fat woman had a narrow pelvis and high blood pressure ... so the baby had what is called fetal suffering.

To top it off, because that motherhood is new, they still didn't have an operating room so they couldn't have a C-section there, so my father-in-law calls me and tells me to look for the doctor who always checked us. As I already knew that I would have returned that day I told them to go directly to the clinic, by then I did not know anything, just that they had to have a C-section.

I left work at 5:15 pm (to top it off I worked 15 min more), desperate I called my fat woman and she told me what was happening, I almost cried of worry and more when she told me that my son was suffering.

And just then I couldn't find my friends or my brother to take me to the clinic (because I'm in a wheelchair). Although I have my electric chair, I can't go up to the third floor with her because of how heavy it is, so I decided to take a taxi with my sister-in-law.

My wife was already ready with the serum to be operated. I was anxious to enter with her but at the last moment the doctor tells me that because it is a sterilized place I cannot enter with the chair and I would not be able to see well.

Well, half an hour later I already heard my baby's cry.

My first encounter with him was special, he seemed to recognize my voice, he was very calm, he did not cry, he was beautiful and every day he still looks more beautiful ... will they be my father's eyes? ... ha ha ha

Now being at home I have been able to enjoy the unique sensation that produces having your child in his arms and feeling him, etc ... In short, it is something heavenly.

A month has passed and we are ultra happy but also eager to be prepared for some things we know will be given to common diseases such as the flu, etc.

On the other hand I wanted to comment that I support the school because we enjoy having our baby with us, in addition that my wife can take care of him right away that starts to cry which is not very often.

So, my son, Mathias has arrived to complement my life that together with my wife, with whom we have already celebrated our first anniversary, have been the gift that God has given me to brighten my life. "
