Long-term flights can be truly tedious for young children who remain locked in an airplane for eight, ten or twelve hours.
Elda has given us her valuable advice to travel by plane with young children and after my trip Buenos Aires- Madrid with two young girls I gave you my own advice. Among them, he mentioned the preference for long trips to be made at night to ensure that children slept at least a few hours.
Of course, there are hours when they do not sleep and the possibility that the trip takes place at night is not always feasible.
Therefore, we will have to resort to all kinds of entertainment to distract them. An alternative is to go armed with coloring books, small toys (and without noise, please), puzzles, etc. But there are also several ways to entertain them without the need for toys.
In the Diario del Viajero we suggest several recommendations, some of them very frequent, to distract a child with the elements that we can find on the plane. These are some:
● If the child can read, play “Search the city” using the airline's route map in the free magazine offered on the plane.
● If the child still cannot read, remove the security card, have a lot of drawings and play "Where is ..." ... the emergency door "," ... the red X "," ... the yellow vest ", etc.
● Play "What does that cloud look like" and get all the inventive possible kid from the window.
● Play “Why I will not kick the front seat” where your child should remember the 10 reasons why that action is not right.
