Initiation to origami for children

The last birthday of my oldest daughter made a very nice gift that I would like to recommend: it is a origami starter kit, Japanese art of paper folding.

The folding of paper is a very interesting activity to do with children because it has a great playful and pedagogical value. In addition to encouraging creativity, it reinforces fine motor skills in children, helps them focus and follow guidelines.

The kit I am talking about, recommended for children between 4 and 10 years old, is made up of 20 papers to which are added eye stickers, noses and mouths that are then folded so that character faces are formed.

I found it a super original and creative gift, ideal for idle summer times or naps that do not want to sleep.

The brand of the kit is Djeco, specialized in origami and origami games that you can get at the Eurekakids online toy store. However on the web I have not found the kit of the face that can be purchased for 6 euros at DeMartina.com.

If your child feels trapped by the origami technique on the Origami-club website you will find many ideas to create figures from a piece of paper, from the simplest to some more complex.

For children of children, figures are recommended that require a maximum of 5 folds and then increase the number of folds as they are somewhat older and acquire skill.
