The mother with the most children in history

The Guinness Book of Records has not been easy to establish an unusual milestone: the mother with the most children in history. Until 1983, Chile's Leontina Espinoza was the most prolific mother in history, with a total of 58 children.

But after his death, a police investigation determined that the mother had lied by adding a total of 42 descendants to her large family of 16 children to benefit from food aid.

The record was removed from the Guinness book, but in 1998 he proclaimed Feodor Vassilyev's wife, with 69 children, as the most prolific mother in history. It was a large family of farmers from Shuya (Russia).

This woman spent much of her pregnant life and giving birth to a total of 69 children in just 27 deliveries, all of them multiple. He had 16 births of twins, 7 triplets and 4 quadruplets.

I could not help taking the calculator to know how long this woman would be pregnant. I have counted 8 months per pregnancy, being all multiple pregnancies, although some will probably last less. It is about 18 years that the mother would be pregnant, which accounts for almost the entire fertile life of the woman. He must have started very young ...

But if this mother was prolific, the father still surpasses her, with a total of 87 children of two different women although, everything must be said, the "merit" is not so much.

From the moment of the appearance of the Guinness record, it has been in question, and that is not easy to believe.

Mrs. Vassilyev lived in the 18th century and a copy of the magazine “The Gentleman's Magazine” of 1783 published a letter written by Feodor Vassilyev in which he claimed that he had been the father of a total of 87 children, 69 of his first wife and 18 of his second wife.

There is another reference to this fact in another publication, the "Saint Petersburg Panorama" in 1834, where a list arrived in Moscow on February 27, 1782 from the city of Shuya. The document stated that Feodor Vassilyev had married twice, as well as the baptism of the 87 children, fitting perfectly with the letter published in "The Gentleman's Magazine".

Later, in 1896, this fact was published in "Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine" ("Rarities and curiosities of medicine"). And from there to the Guinness Book of Records in 1998.

At present, we have already told you about a marriage with 19 children, although there will surely be other women in the world whose cases are not echoed by the media and exceed that figure. Now reach the most prolific mother in history, with 69 children, it is not simple.
