The Hospital de la Marina Alta de Dénia (Spain) is a benchmark in terms of promoting breastfeeding, with staff aware of its importance and one of the highest rates of breastfeeding when leaving the hospital. Therefore it is not surprising that he has convened for years a photography contest dedicated to show the beauty of breastfeeding.
"10 years. Breastfeeding photo contest ”commemorates a decade of photographs, a compilation that emphasizes the importance that this contest has had in all that time to raise awareness among many families of the importance of motherhood and breastfeeding.
The photographs that illustrate this book that we can see on-line correspond to Photo Contest of the Marina Alta Hospital and the Nodrissa Group in a journey through ten years of images of all backgrounds, of all colors.
In addition, the book is completed with interesting texts such as the ten steps towards a happy breastfeeding. It also reminds us of important issues such as the relevance of breastfeeding support groups or health professionals in the hospital setting, as well as some Millennium goals.
Also emotional texts of some of the mothers portrayed that relate their experiences with their babies, and, of course, the winning and outstanding photographs of each year of the Contest.
The photo contest was conceived by the Pediatric Service of the Marina Alta Hospital as another means to spread the benefits of breastfeeding, both for children and for mothers, and to encourage women to breastfeed.
