Christmas gift tips

Christmas is coming and advertising floods us. On television, in magazines or in brochures in shopping centers, thousands of attractive toys are offered that awaken children's wishes. They ask for everything and we sometimes spend too much or do not buy them more suitable. That's why I hope these Christmas gift tips be useful to you

The bombardment of images that identify happiness and possession of material objects is one of the constants of the publicity that is present throughout our environment, but at Christmas and especially in regard to children, expecting them to resist the desire to Having it all is too much for them.

We, the parents, must also educate in these moments although, without a doubt, fulfilling their dreams is part of the happiness of these dates. We would have, each one from our perspective and possibilities, to make the abundance of gifts compatible with the reality of an integral education about the value of things.

We will not be worse parents if we do not buy everything, especially if the purchases were to exceed our economic possibilities or organization of space in the home. We will not compensate either, even if we buy a toy store, the excessive absence in the lives of children if we spend too much time away from them for leisure, for work or for not living in the same home.We also do not do them a favor if we buy them toys that we judge dangerous or inappropriate no matter how much they ask for them or if we buy things that, in the end, are the ones we like. These are tips that we can all keep in mind.

What is too much for some will be little for others and vice versa. There is no rule that we can apply to all households, it depends on the common sense of each parent.

Before buying gifts, we must assess whether they are really durable, safe and possible toys that will not be cornered in two days or will be an ornament that will end up accumulating dust. We must also keep in mind that the toy has to be suitable for the child's age and that it will provide opportunities to develop his motor skills, his imagination, his creativity and his spirit of cooperation. And buy what we can, explaining that they cannot have everything that appears in the magazine they have found in the mailbox, educating in responsible and intelligent consumption.

The pleasure of choosing and buying toys for our children is wonderful, for us and for them, but we can make rational purchases if we have some tips, like the ones I propose, about Christmas gifts.
