Babyradio, the first children's radio in Spain

In a few days, a unique project in Spain will come to light, which I find especially interesting because I think it can give a lot of play for families with young children. Is about Babyradio, the first children's radio station.

Babyradio was born with the objective of the realization and diffusion of material in multimedia format aimed at children from 0 to 6 years, as a useful tool for parents and educators. The design of its programming is based on the premise of accompanying the boy or girl in their day to day, 24 hours a day.

Taking a look at its contents, I think they will offer a lot of material to vary the soundtrack of our cars and offer us many good moments of children's radio.

How to listen to Babyradio?

Before you ask yourself on which dial you can find this radio, it should be noted that Babyradio is a mainly online station, that is to say that its route of transmission is Internet.

Babyradio is designed as a downloadable multiplatform application for free and available for mobile gadgets such as Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, mobile phones with major operating systems such as Android, Symbian or Windows Mobile, as well as for PCs under Windows, Mac OSX or Linux.

Also, Babyradio is distributed via podcast, through a system of rediffusion (RSS). In this way, listeners can access a database where they can listen to the program they want.

Babyradio's programming

But what about Babyradio's programming? In this children's station we will find a lot of entertainment for kids, music, stories, games, tips ... We will also get acquainted with the "Babyradio Universe", where the characters are located, four different scenarios recognizable by different styles of music.

A programming day is divided into three parts or programs:

  • Good morning Babyradio: This is the first "alarm program" or "morning show" made for children. Their main objective is to help them start the day with joy and energy with songs, stories, games and much more.
  • Good afternoon Babyradio: They start at the table with nap time. The classics of the history of music specially adapted, help them rest to replenish energies. Later, an afternoon full of games and fun awaits.
  • Good night Babyradio: Perhaps one of the most special moments of the day. Bedtime is accompanied by a program that, from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., combines babysitters and stories specially designed to help children fall asleep. Once finished, and until 7 in the morning, they are accompanied by a program consisting of a selection of adaptations of music classics.

Content for parents

In addition, in podcast format we find programs such as “School of Parents” or "For those who already eat eggs" (a nutrition program). In these programs, fathers and mothers will have a weekly appointment with different professionals from the children's world who will answer the questions of the listeners in "The Consultation" and will discuss the main topics that interest and concern about the education of the children.

All of Babyradio's content is its own production (there are teachers and nursery professionals behind it) and it is specially designed to interact with children and adults.

All contents are developed taking into account values such as respect, tolerance, equality, friendship, sharing or teamwork, as well as the dissemination of a message of healthy habits.

From its website we can already access some content of Babyradio, the first children's radio station, which opens in a couple of days, on September 15. We'll be alert. Good luck with the project!
