"Lucky to have you", emotional campaign on World Down Syndrome Day

Today marks the "World Down Syndrome Day", a date established by the UN that seeks publicly raise awareness and remember the inherent dignity, worth and important contributions to society of people with intellectual disabilities.

This year, the Down Spain Federation has launched the "Luck of having you" campaign, which is sweeping social networks for the emotional message it conveys and for fight stereotypes and prejudices that today are still associated with Down syndrome.

The video is narrated by a four-year-old girl who explains in a simple and emotional way why his brother with Down syndrome is the best in the world: "He takes care of me and makes me happy". Undoubtedly a powerful message, simple and full of positivism, and what is more wonderful than two brothers loving and caring for each other?

The beautiful and daily images of the video show the two brothers walking together, playing or having a snack, thus fighting against the stereotypes and prejudices that are still associated with Down syndrome.

The video ends with an absolutely moving message and full of tenderness, with which the inclusion in society of people with this disability is sought: "My brother is perfect as he is. I wish all the children had my luck"

Sixty national, regional and local televisions have aired the spot, and the hashtag #lasuertedetenerte is already a trending topic on Twitter. From the Foundation they ask everyone's collaboration to join this campaign in favor of diversity, inclusion and equality.

Last year, the # Authentic campaign moved us all with a video starring children, young people and adults with Down syndrome that were shown as they are: inimitable, spontaneous and genuine.

This year, the two protagonist brothers will penetrate deeply into our hearts, making us reflect on the fate of having people with Down syndrome in our society, and who can contribute so much.
