Liz wanted to be a mother, and Giselle was looking for a family to recover from the serious health consequences of her prematurity and neonatal withdrawal syndrome. His was love at first sight, but to be together they had to travel a hard road.
He was born with neonatal withdrawal syndrome
Giselle was born in July 2016 at 29 weeks gestation, with 900 grams of weight. TO his prematurity joined complications derived from the neonatal withdrawal syndrome with which he was born, as a result of drug use during the pregnancy of his biological mother.

What Liz Smith felt for Giselle the first time he saw her was love at first sight. He noticed her when she crossed into the hospital corridor with another nurse who was moving her from a room in a cot, and was quickly hypnotized by her huge blue eyes.

So when Liz learned that Social Services was looking for Giselle a foster home, the nurse made the decision to become her mother, and submitted an application. Three weeks later, in April 2017, he received permission to take the girl home, but knowing that the State would do everything possible to reunite her with her biological parents.
And finally, Liz fulfilled her dream of becoming a mother
If Liz longed for anything since she was practically right, it was becoming a mother. But the years passed and I couldn't find a partner to start a family with, so he decided to try to be a single mother.
However, after visiting several fertility clinics and learning about treatments, the economic factor got in his way, and Liz began to accept with great sadness that she would never become a mother.
But it was then that he met Giselle and knew her story, and from that moment on she turned all her love and her desire to become a mother.While the baby was at Liz's house on a foster basis, He received a weekly visit from his biological parents, but the State ended up determining their inability to care for a child and their parental rights were canceled.
Liz could then request the adoption of Giselle, although she confesses that that day was especially bittersweet:

In October 2017, a judge granted the adoption to Liz Smith and since then they became a family.
Today, Giselle is two and a half years old and is an immensely happy girl. He goes to daycare, plays with his cousins and loves his mother. And although he still has to deal with certain aspects related to his health, he is gradually overcoming milestones thanks to the care and unconditional love of Liz.
