"Disrupted objects", nothing is what it seems in the MACBA of Barcelona

The pipes are metal or wooden chairs ... in an ordinary world. But "Disrupted objects" is a family workshop that proposes an extraordinary world in the MACBA of Barcelona, where a car can be made of vegetal fiber, a marble pipe, a glass chair ...

This is a workshop aimed at families especially with children from five to twelve years, in which the exhibition of Rita McBride, an artist who reinterprets everyday objects, alters their dimensions and materials, visiting them is eliminated mode the functionalities for which they were created.

McBride stages objects related to design and architecture, often treated with unusual materials and unexpected dimensions. It is thus questioned about the myths of progress, industrialization, mass production processes ...

Probably We can learn a lot from this workshop, although each one at their level, but for the little ones I think it will be very interesting to face these small sculptures and learn about the material they are made of or what they could be used for.

In short, especially to be in contact with art, with other ways of thinking and seeing reality, which is always stimulating, at any age. And, of course, do a family activity, where parents also participate.

The family workshop "Disrupted objects" is held at the MACBA in Barcelona Wednesdays at 12 noon. The activity lasts an hour and a half, and no previous registration is required. Participation in the workshop costs two euros.
