A video captures how an eight-year-old boy rescues his sister from the car while they were robbing him

Ohio police in the United States have recognized the heroic attitude of Chance, an eight year old boy, that not only managed to escape his great grandmother's car while they were stealing it, but also saved his sister Skylar, ten years old, from his possible kidnapper.

It happened while the children's great grandmother left a friend at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio. A surveillance camera captured everything that happened.

Middleton Police shared the video of the recording on their Facebook page, explaining what had happened.

A hero, for the police

His great-grandmother, Nita Coburn, 69, parked in front of the Atrium Medical Center hospital in Middletown to accompany a family member to the emergency room. Meanwhile, the two children, Chance Blue and Skylar Weaver, were sitting in the backseat.

In just a few seconds a man got into the car, with the little ones still in the back. And began to say "Out, out, out", as explained by the boy.

Chance opened the door to escape with her sister, but Skylar was about to jump when the thief grabbed her by the hood.

The great grandmother heard the children scream and ran away. It was then that he saw someone driving his car with his great-grandchildren in the backseat.

The surveillance video shows Nita Coburn running towards the car, grabbing the driver's door and being dragged a few meters. Meanwhile, Chance falls through the open back door on the passenger side and manages to get Skylar with him, while the car drives away. None of the children were injured.

"I acted like that at that time because I didn't want my sister to get hurt"Chance told the ABC show" Good Morning America "in an interview.

The woman, who suffered minor injuries, said she had no idea that her great-grandchildren had escaped while being dragged.

Moddletown Police stopped the stolen vehicle a few streets later and arrested Dalvir Singh, 34.

And he highlighted the heroic attitude of the little boy and his grandmother on his Facebook page, with the children next to one of the police officers who arrested the thief and alleged kidnapper:

"What do you see here? If your answer is three heroes, then you're right." Chance and Skylar are with officer Kirby. Chance made sure he and his sister Skylar got out of their car when it was stolen. They were about to be kidnapped by a stranger! And let's not forget the deroz attitude of his grandmother, who gave everything trying to save them. Officer Kirby along with Officer Engleka were the officers who captured the suspect minutes later. We are very proud of these children and our officers. "
