N is a musical application (application) by Jorge Drexler for mobile devices

Jorge Drexler just presented n, an ambitious application (or application if you want) for mobile devices, which allows the user to play with the lyrics of the song to get millions of variations, improvise, modify and create many different stories. It is not a specific application for children although it seems to me that they are going to love playing with the variations of the lyrics and the melody and of course it opens a spectacular world for the development of children's songs with multiple variations.

The song n1, which can already be downloaded, is Room 316 and tells the story of two perfect strangers who are in a hotel room. Depending on what you choose, using an attractive and simple visual interface, the song can tell a lot of stories and animate the imagination of those who listen to it. The application is intended to include three songs, called n1, n2 and n3.

I will not explain how the application works because technically it seems to me that it must be very complicated to get the music and lyrics to fit depending on what is being chosen from the device. If I say, because we have tried it at home, that the application works great and the result is surprising and very attractive. I am sure that we will soon see more similar developments and who knows if our children will one day be dedicated to building pieces to build songs.

The application has two more songs. n2 is Driftwood and tell how the coming and going in life determines who we are. The fun of this application is that it plays with geolocation, that is, it changes the content of the reproduction depending on where we are. This is how the music of the Bilbao symphony orchestra can play partially or totally. Also in this song participates the chorus of vocals KUP Taldea.

And n3, is Tenth to tenth which includes ten stanzas of ten verses and for each of them the user can choose 10 different options. Each stanza is sung by a singer and can change author as the song progresses. Among the participating singers are Xoel López, Kiko Veneno as well as Jorge Drexler himself.

The application, available on iPad and iPhone, is a Warner Music project, weighs 130 MB and is authorized for all ages. It is in English and Spanish.
