The desired moment for many, but feared for others, of school holidays is approaching. For these days when children no longer have to go to school but at home the normal work schedule of parents is followed, there is a different alternative to summer schools or grandparents.
Summer workshops in the museums of Tenerife They are a sample of educational and recreational activities designed for children who have a fairly broad schedule. The workshops, aimed at children aged three or four years up to twelve years, will take place in the Museum of Nature and Man, in the Museum of Science and Cosmos, and in the Museum of History and Anthropology of Tenerife.
The "Small explorers" workshop is held at the Museum of Nature and Man, a space for fun, creation and learning in areas of expression such as science, art and leisure, all complemented by environmental education and values education activities. At Museum of Science and the Cosmos We have the workshop "Open for holidays", with activities that are carried out weekly, with a stable and different schedule per fortnight, and in this case for children from three to twelve years of age. "With your hands in the dough," "Those great sages," "Science and reading" or "Planet Earth" are some of the suggestive titles of activities.
For its part, the Museum of History and Anthropology proposes "Travel without moving!", With different workshops every week. The children will know the surroundings of Casa de Carta, with its gardens and outdoor orchards, its bread oven, the objects of its rooms, the gofio mill, the stately Casa Lercaro and the treasures and stories that guard its rooms ...
The schedule of the workshops, which have a weekly duration (each week a new workshop begins in each museum) will be from 09.00 to 14.00 hours, with a permanency service from 07.30 to 09.00 hours and from 14.00 to 16.00 hours.
These schedules undoubtedly respond to the family needs of working parents and are faced with the problem of what to do with children who no longer have a school, and although it is not a cheap "solution" it is certainly very educational for children.

Summer workshops in the Museums of Tenerife they begin once classes have finished, on June 24; they continue on July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 and on August 5, 12, 19 and 26 August, until the week of September 2. The price amounts to 70 euros (66 euros for large families) per week and per child, and includes a mid-morning lunch.
