How to make a mashed potato and mince pie

We prepare a traditional mashed potatoes or we use one of dehydrated flakes. If you want to make it really good, make it homemade by cooking the potatoes in plenty of salt water. Then we have to peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and crush them with a fork. Add the cream and a few sticks of butter and mix until a homogeneous puree.

For stuffing sauce, we begin by chopping the vegetables that we are going to use in very small pieces so that the little ones do not reject them. Once poached in extra virgin olive oil for 5 minutes over low heat, add the minced meat and sauté it in the pan.

Then add the fried tomato. We mix all the ingredients well so that the meat is well distributed with the vegetables and let it reduce everything together to form a homogeneous filling as you have in the photos.

To mount the plate, we put in a baking dish a first layer of mash, we cover it with another one of meat, we cover again with mash and again with minced meat and we finish with a thin layer of mash that we sprinkle with grated cheese.

Once assembled the cake in a glass dish suitable for baking, we put it in the top of the oven for 5 minutes to get the cheese gratin. When serving, if you like, we can sprinkle with a little oregano.
