Well yes: recent moms have a belly

Beautiful and happy. That's how they were when they left the hospital a few hours after the birth of the future heir. But if something caught my attention of the recent image of the Dukes of Cambridge presenting their baby was to see Kate Middelton wearing a belly. Yes, postpartum tummy.

And if it caught my attention it is because when in the world of entertainment (with forgiveness, also of royalty) these presentations are made before the press with images that later go on to news and rotating press and magazines, the mother is surprisingly Like before pregnancy.

As if nothing had happened there. No kilos, lumps, or extra skin. Magic? None of that: girdles. That may be fine for some times, to give security to the mother, although it is not proven to help a better recovery of the figure.

And here we come to the crux of the matter: the recovery of the figure. That obligation imposed on women that they must be very wonderful after giving birth. No belly, no stretch marks, no fatigue, no dark circles ...

The models that return to the catwalks a few weeks after delivery (and here there must be some kind of "miracle" outside the reach of common mortals) become a reference, a role model. But that is not how ordinary women are. And we don't have to be ashamed of it, or suffer for it, or hide it.

Even in spite of the lack of tact of some professionals or non-professionals, friends, family ... who tell you in a rather crude way that lazy belly is there. Normal, a baby weighing a few kilos just came out ...

That's why I loved the dress that Kate Middelton chose, prepared for that tummy (which is sure to disappear shortly) and also not hide it but look proud. Bravo for her, I like that real image (real, true, really) that can help many women not to feel insecure.

The Dukes of Cambridge may not be clear about the baby's name at the time, but what they were clear about, especially her, is that she had nothing to hide. And is that, indeed, recent moms have a belly.
