Crochet Knitted Halloween Zucchini

A few days ago I told you about my new fondness for weaving and I showed you how to make Halloween crocheted crochets. Today I want to show you another project as simple as you can do with your kids: a crochet knit Halloween zucchini.

The night of 31 is just around the corner, so there are few days left to prepare the last details. Zucchini are very easy and quick to make and can be very beautiful decorating any corner of the house with candles.

I say zucchini and not pumpkins, because the one I've made is very small: it is 7 cm in diameter. It can be very nice to make them of different sizes, in that case you just have to start with more points and increase proportionally in each lap.

Step 1: To start, make a chain of 4 points and close with a past point.

Step 2: In the first round make an increase in each point, so that there will be 8 low points or half points. In the second round, an increase in each point, there will be 16. In the third round, an increase every two points, there will be 24. In the fourth, an increase every 2 points, there will be 36. Make six more increases up to 42 points. With those 42 stitches, knit 6 rows and then begin to decrease the stitches until you have 4 stitches again.

Step 3: At that time fill the fabric with cotton to shape. I have used a piece of cloth from an old shirt.

Step 4: Close the base with a wool sewing needle.

Step 5: With the same needle and a long wool thread, go through the center, making 6 equal parts.

Step 6: With green wool take 8 points from the center and make a cape decreasing in round by 6 turns. Then close and hide the leftover.

I hope you liked the project of the crochet knit Halloween zucchini. As I said before, you can make them of different sizes and place them on a table with candles, or inside a basket to decorate a special corner of the house.
