Easter holidays with children: the best rural destinations

Because not everything is going to be "passion" in Holy Week, you probably choose a nature destination for your vacation with children. You go where you go on the map, here are some ideas about some of the best rural destinations in Spain.

The advantages to decide for a vacation of this type are innumerable, since we disconnect from the routine involved in nature and children, like us, feel that freedom to breathe a pure air, leaving worries aside.

Also in these environments we can choose multiple leisure activities, from horseback riding to hiking, cycling routes ... The offer is wide for sports and outdoor games, taking advantage of the good weather (hopefully).

The Sierra de Gredos

The Sierra de Gredos covers the provinces of Salamanca, Cáceres, Ávila, Madrid and Toledo, so we have where to choose to spend a few days in the middle of nature. We stay south of the province of Ávila, very close to Madrid, to enjoy beautiful villages, mountains, lakes, castles and delicious cuisine. Do not miss the route on foot towards Laguna Grande, the view from Puerto del Pico or the Valley of the five Villas.

The accommodation in the area allows us to choose from the Parador to shelters, through rural houses and different hotels. The case is to find your ideal place that serves as a basis for the exploration of nature and the surrounding villages ...

Casserole

The Sierra de Cazorla in the province of Jaén It is one of the most popular family destinations in the area. It is not surprising if we consider that the Natural Park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas with more than 214,000 hectares is the largest protected area in Spain and the second in Europe.

Based in the beautiful town of Cazorla (crowned by its castle) or in one of the many rural accommodations in the area, we can discover a wonderful nature on foot or by bike along its paths and make the route of the mythical Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente .

The Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca

In Mallorca not everything is beach. And as for these dates only the most daring dare to dive into the sea we opt for a lesser known but beautiful Mallorca: the Sierra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site.

There are numerous options to stay in the area, from hotels to rural houses, although we can also establish our base in Palma de Mallorca and move by car. I recommend you rent a vehicle to explore at your leisure all the points of interest of the Sierra and from Sant Elm you can take a boat to reach the Natural Park of Sa Dragonera.

In our tour of the Sierra there are some mandatory stops as in some of the most beautiful villages in Spain: Valldemossa and Deià. We will also see reservoirs, we will see spectacular viewpoints to the sea, even reaching the north end, next to the mountain goats, to see a wonderful sunset at the Formentor Lighthouse.

We hope this tour encourages you to pack, not forgetting the backpacks to go to any of these rural destinations for Easter holidays with children. You will tell us on the way back how you had it!
