The horrible abortion law that the PP promised will not see the light

Several months ago, in December, the government brought us in the form of a Christmas gift a preliminary bill of abortion that generated much controversy for being as or more restrictive than the law that was passed about 30 years ago. We thought it was a horrible law and for some days we talked about it: here you can read what the law said and here we gave some ideas to reduce abortion rates, if that was one of the problems.

Nine months have passed since and when it seemed that the law was about to pass the PP has backed down and the law will not see the light. The reason, it seems, is that not even the government agrees to support the law, and as there is much internal debate and they do not reach consensus, they have decided to park the issue, in what I consider to be great news (especially if it was confirmed that the counterpoint to said law comes from the female sector of the government).

Gallardón and his personal struggle

Apparently, Gallardón's law immediately aroused little controversy within the party. Women lost any type of freedom to abort and not even in case of malformation of the fetus could an abortion be performed, unless that malformation endangered the woman's life. When opinions contrary to the law were generated, Rajoy asked Gallardón to start a period of consultations with the party partners to modify the wording of the text based on the recommendations of others, in order to reach consensus and, as a day Today that point has not come, a law that was to be approved in July, and that in September was not yet real, will be forgotten, at least for now.

Concealing, which is gerund

These are the data that El Mundo explains, and it seems to make a lot of sense, since the approval of the law was postponed to infinity and in the end, out of boredom, the subject is parked. But nevertheless, the Popular Party has decided to hide and lie (something that citizens already think is normal, because the strange thing would be that they were sincere) and instead of saying that the law was terribly conservative, outdated and misogynistic they have invented that they leave the issue aside to focus on fighting against the citizens of Catalonia, who have been demonstrating for three years to ask for a consultation in which to vote what they want for their future, whether to remain linked to Spain or to separate.

It is only necessary to watch the video that I leave below, from Europa Press, to be clear that Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón is not at all convinced of the matter and is more than nervous because his "daughter", the abortion law, does not He has been born (the minister speaks in minute one and 20 seconds).

So he made a lot of noise, got too excited at the time, wasted defending the law and when he thought it was going to pass, in his party they decided not to. I'm glad.
