Stimulate gestures in the baby

We saw it a few days ago, babies who gesture develop more vocabulary, so we have one more reason to stimulate gestures in the baby. Apart from being a fun activity, it is your first "complex" and conscious way of communication, and it provides many benefits for its development.

The baby's conscious gestures can be facial and manual especially, although dancing and other body movements are included. Many of these gestures are accompanied by sounds before speech develops. After 9 months, these gestures begin to proliferate if we help them.

Give a kiss with the lips or with the hand, point out the objects you want, point towards the parts of the body ("where is the nose?"), Movements associated with certain animals (next to the sound), put your hand next to the ear as if speaking on the phone ... are some of the gestures that we can stimulate in the baby, because they need to learn what they mean, that they make sense.

Precisely many children's songs are "prepared" for this gestural accompaniment ("the five little wolves", "the chicks say peep" ...), and also many games, such as covering your face and discovering ("cu-cu"). No doubt when the baby rubs the year of age we will have discovered a whole repertoire that we did not know before and that we can use for these needs.

Usually when babies they listen to music they begin to move rhythmically, when they begin to stand on everything. Accompanying them in these dances encourages them to practice them more often, even to "ask for them", and apart from educating the ear they improve their coordination and exercise movements.

There are also facial gestures, such as when they make "smilies," or puffs, or pedreretas and are the center of attention. As soon as they notice that effect they have on the elderly, they take advantage of their grace to repeat the gestures and sounds.

Anyway, what help them and encourage them to gesture It is a very rich activity for the development of babies and surely we will enjoy learning a lot from our children and discovering everything we can empathize with them even without verbal language.
