Do you think that the right to homeschooling should be recognized? the question of the week

Like every wednesday We launched from Babies and more a question of the week to our readers, inviting them to give us their opinion. On this occasion, and on the occasion of the return to school of the majority of the children and of the November to the school of those who study at home, our question will deal with the issue of homeschooling.

Do you think that the right to homeschooling should be recognized?

The Ministry of Education has already published that it has received many requests for homeschooling, a completely standardized educational option in the vast majority of Western countries, to be recognized, regulated in some way and receive an express legal recognition that at this time in Spain It does not exist and it causes complicated situations for some families who, responsibly, decide to educate their children at home.

As you know we have opted for homeschooling. My son studies enrolled in a recognized American school that will allow him to access the High School degree and go to an American University. If you decide to study in Spain we have several ways to achieve it. For us it is the best option in our case, due to geographical mobility, flexibility of content and methods and for allowing a fully customized curricular adaptation, in addition to having shown us that it is optimal for my child's natural socialization.

However, Spain still does not clearly legislate in favor of homeschoolers families and every time, given the increasingly wide spread of the phenomenon, it seems necessary to recognize this right and protect children to ensure they receive adequate education.

I would like you to tell us what do you think of homeschooling and what formulas would you like to exist in Spain. And also, of course, if you have thought about it. Remember your answers in this link so that we can collect them and that the other readers vote for you.

Last week's question

Last week our question was this: What do you think of the periods of adaptation of schools and nurseries?

The most voted response has been Silvia, who has conveyed her concern about the beginning of her son's school.

Well, I'm with a big knot in my stomach. My son starts school on Tuesday with 3 years and I see myself fighting with everyone ... Since he was born he hasn't been to the nursery (I asked for a reduction in working hours and we adjusted the schedule for dad and me), he continues to drink a tit and he's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo shy like me at his age! Anyway, in June we went to see the school because they prepared a visit to the new 3 years and spent all the time crying and asking for arms because "he was scared." Since pregnancy we were not very clear that we would enroll him so soon, but for social reasons and because now I do not work and I can be with him all day, because we decided to try the school to play with other children (and avoid studies of services social and those rolls). But now, really getting to the point with the theme of adaptations, I see it very black. I know that my son needs me to gain confidence with a new environment and people. Then, once that trust is taken, it is most sociable and willing. But first of all, he needs me or, if not, Dad. And it turns out that in the school, as input, there is a resounding NO for parents to enter class with children. And I say, if they adapt to the learning rhythm of each child, why don't they adapt to the “adaptation” rhythm too? Each one is as it is, some more shy, some more confident, others more passotillas ... It seems to me that adapting to school, in general, is a disaster and cannot be described as such. And what we are afraid of right now is that I am not going to leave him crying desperately in school, no matter how much the teachers tell me that as soon as I leave it he passes. It is not a necessity and I will not make him go through that. Or they let me in with him and I will see how I am leaving him alone as he gains confidence and always without trauma, at any time, or they are left without a student for at least this year. And come the Social Services and whoever, I will explain my reasons! And friends… well, if they don't like garlic and water! (is that of course, we are the weirdos, without nursery, with tit, without bottles or porridge, collecting ... what am I going to tell you!) Anyway, I have already relieved and see what they tell me Monday by the Late in the meeting. But it gives me that my son is not going to start school on Tuesday!

We remind you that the question of the week It is already available in the Answers section and we invite you to give us your opinion so that other readers can rate it and we will pick it up for next week.
