The contest 'And you, what?' to promote adolescent group reflection on topics of interest

The contest 'And you, what?' It aims to provoke reflections on advertising, violence, group relationships or fun among young people, from 13 years old, among other topics.

The objective of the initiative, in which the Children's Platform of Spain collaborates, is to promote group reflection on different topics of interest for young people to make their own decisions about them, be critical and autonomous with their environment and, in In short, they can function in the least vulnerable way possible. The work done by groups of young people with a minimum of 5 components, belonging to educational centers or youth associations of Andalusia, Cantabria, Valencian Community, Community of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León may be submitted to the competition.

Participation in the contest will be held through the blogs that the groups will have enabled in the social network Cyber ​​correspondents. In order to participate, the educator must first register the group with the young people who want to join the contest becoming their “guide-tutor”.

Group reflection is the central axis of the programs, being able to channel their conclusions into various products that can be presented to the contest "And you, what?"

Have settled four modalities of participation: written support, artistic expression, audiovisual support or others (other presentations that do not include any of the above categories: may be educational games, itineraries, computer applications, etc.)

The works submitted to the contest must be based on one or several topics present in the FAD programs “And you, what do you think?” And “And you, what do you feel?”…

These programs are born with participatory and preventive vocation with a wide range of possibilities and application spaces, being key to the result of the same, the work of coordination and stimulation of the mediators.

The Jury of the contest will assess the reflections that young people make about the issues that make up the two programs.

Interested educators can access the teaching materials through: Cyber ​​correspondents. With them, you can work aspects related to free time, personal relationships, consumption and emotions.

It is an initiative organized by the FAD and the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, whose deadlines for submission are May 20 in the first call, and December 2 in the second.

I think that the most important thing in this contest is the vocation to stimulate the reflection of young people about the world around them, without a doubt It is a practice that should be present in the daily lives of children.
